A tribute with roots

For more than two decades, the Prada a Tope Foundation has recognized every autumn people and institutions that have made the Bierzo their cause and their commitment.

Castaña de Oro Award honors trajectories that add to the territory: that take care of its landscape, give life to its culture, defend its heritage or boost its economy without betraying its identity.

It is not a media award. It is a gesture of gratitude to those who -with big or small actions- keep the essence of this land alive.

Inspiring trajectories

Each edition of the Castaña de Oro Award is a recognition to those who, with their work, their example or their commitment, have left a positive mark in El Bierzo.

Some have taken the name of this land beyond its borders. Others have worked from here, in silence, building the future from the everyday. They all have something in common: to make Bierzo a more authentic place, more alive and more worthy of being cared for.

This is the memory of those who have already received the Golden Chestnut.
A tribute to their work... and an invitation to follow their example.
